Sandro Tigishvili, violinist
Founder & Artistic Director at Tigishvili Music International (TMI) 
The Violinist Sandro Tigishvili was born on October 17th 1980 in Tbilisi, Georgia. He started to play the violin in the age of 7 at the Tbilisi Music School. His Teachers were G.Khatiashvili & B.Tchiaureli. After winning the National Music competition in Georgia in 1997 he was granted the presidential scholarship for years 1997-98.
In the year 1999 he continued his studies in Geneva under the eminent violinist and teacher H.Kayaleh. In 2007 Sandro won the first price on the International Music Competition in Padova (Italy). In the following years he was invited as an honored jury member at the same competition. Sandro has performed as a soloist with different orchestras & conductors in Switzerland, Austria, Germany, Italy, France, Luxembourg, UK, Georgia, Panama, USA, etc. The Swiss Composer Doryan-Emmanuel Rappaz has dedicated his violin concerto to Sandro Tigishvili and in June 2015. Sandro performed the violin concerto with great success in Geneva with Lorenzo Turchi-Floris & the Turin Philharmonic Orchestra. In 2016 during the Symphony of the Americas Summerfest concert tour throughout Florida conducted by James Brooks-Bruzzese, Sandro performed the US premier of the violin concerto written in 1956 by the Georgian composer Otar Taktakishvili.
Sandro Tigishvili is a member of Musicfor through which he devotes much of his musical activity to the support and development of music in disadvantaged areas in the world (Mozambique, Haiti, Angola, and South Africa) building music schools, purchasing musical instruments, providing scholarships and the realization of chamber and symphonic orchestras. Thousands of children have thus the opportunity to approach music and broaden their perception and their perspective on life. 
Sandro plays an Italian violin of Bologna school from circa 1700.
